throne commissioned for King George IV has been lovingly restored at a cost of £100,000 ahead of
going on public display in London.
The enormous ornate ceremonial throne was commissioned for the then Prince of
Wales by the Grand Lodge following the election of King George IIIs eldest son
as Grand Master in 1790.

doesnt seem two minutes since we were inundated with newspaper reports that the
Queen had ordered her family to be "frugal" as many of her subjects struggled to survive the recession.
I think we can assume, then, that Her Majesty and the royal spin doctors would not have envisaged the appearance of a Sunday newspaper story which claims 'engaged' Prince William and Kate Middleton are "buying a £5m Malibu love nest".

One of Britain's most famous footballers scored himself a seat in the
royal carriage procession with Her Majesty and Prince Philip at Ascot
this afternoon.
Newcastle
striker Michael Owen was a surprise addition to the parade which, for the
second day running, included no other members of the Royal Family.
