The row over the provenance of the photograph of Prince Harry 'groping' the breast of TV presenter Natalie Pinkham has taken a new twist tonight. Following on from the Clarence House claims that the images are around three years old, the TV presenter has reportedly said the offending images have been reprinted by The Sun without her permission.
Today's Sun newspaper openly criticised the second and third-in-line to the throne for their undignified behaviour. Beneath a headline reading 'The Booze Brothers', the two Princes are pictured inside the paper hugging, seemingly in a drunken state. Concerning the validity of The Sun's claim that the photographs were taken earlier this summer at Boujis nightclub in London, an official from the Prince of Wales' office said: "We have contacted The Sun and asked them to make a correction. The pictures are three years out of date." The Sun has been quick to go on the offensive, a spokesman saying: "We bought the photos and negatives of our favourite playboy prince, which were taken in a London venue attended by members of the public. There is absolutely no question over their authenticity. Clarence House have informed us they have concerns over precisely when and in which nightclub the pictures were taken and we are discussing these matters with them." Clearly, Natalie Pinkham is disputing this version of events and, according to reports, may well take legal action. Such talk possibly helps the Palace spin machine, for such debate moves attention away from questions, as debated here throughout the day, about the behaviour and conduct of the Princes who were, for so long, shielded from media scrutiny and criticism.
