Burrell: Diana Wanted To Marry Hasnat Khan PDF Print E-mail
Written by Joanne Leyland

As well as the 'revelation', reported here last night, about the ring Dodi Al Fayed gave Diana, Princess of Wales, Paul Burrell discloses in his new book that, at the behest of Diana, he asked a priest about the logistics of his boss marrying Dr. Hasnat Khan.

Burrell's claims backs up the thoughts of many in Diana's circle by claiming she was never in love with Dodi, the Princess at one point phoning him from Paris to say: "I’m ready to come home now."

According to Burrell, Diana was still in love with Hasnat Khan. Just months earlier she'd astounded the butler by exclaiming: "This is the man I want to marry. Do you think it would be possible for me to marry in secret with just a couple of witnesses?"

Burrell says he was expecting Diana to double up in laughter, but such a reaction never came and he duly sounded out the views of his family priest.

The reaction of Father Tony Parsons was negative, his response being: "It's impossible, Paul! Impossible! It could never be done."
