If you're in the UK and have been watching the excellent BBC1 series 'The Queen's Cavalry' over the past weeks you'll appreciate just how much trouble this poor soldier is probably in.Wednesday's Daily Mail newspaper carries an excellent set of photos on page three of a young member of the Household Cavalry being thrown to the ground during the Changing of the Guard ceremony at London's Horse Guards Parade. One especially interesting tidbit which has come out of the BBC series is just how often guards are propositioned whilst stood to attention. As you may know, they are not allowed to speak whilst on duty, even when a female tourist is trying to attract their attention by slipping a piece of paper containing their name and phone number into a guard's pocket! We can only imagine that the guard who suffered such a public indignity on Monday won't be having any free time to follow up any notes he may have been given! By the way, rest assured that neither soldier nor horse was injured. Comment on this article
