Confirming the planned visit, royal aide Lisa Frederiksen says: "It's
true. I can confirm the prince and princess are going to Australia in
November. But I must emphasise it is a private visit. There are no
official engagements."
However the visit is due to
coincide with
the docking in Australia of a Danish research shop, the Galathea 3, of
which Frederik is Royal Patron, giving rise to speculation (make that
'hope') in sections of the Australian media that there may be room for
at least one official appearance in the couple's itinerary.
Considering how hugely popular both Mary
and Frederik are in the Southern Hemisphere, it's highly likely that —
whether they like it or not — the family's 'private' visit will make
for more than a few headlines.
Comment: Let us hope the Press displays more restraint than it usually does ! This CP couple are so popular in Oz that everyone will want to see them .

Comment: I think it is wonderful the baby is going to meet his aussie relatives and the visit is private. Although it is disturbing that the statement whether they like it or not the "private visit" will make a few headlines that would be a gross invasion of their privacy as this is not an official trip.
