When he left the High Court in London following his acquittal for theft in November 2002, Paul Burrell was surrounded by journalists and curious onlookers, all desperate to hear his tales of royal life.
How times have changed.....
At a book signing session at a Waterstones store in Glasgow this week, Burrell discovered that he had few takers for his second tome of memoirs, The Way We Were.
In fact, just five people bought a copy.
According to one onlooker, who cheekily asked the former Palace aide to sign his Notebook (a good way to save money!) instead of buying a book: "I didn't want an expensive doorstop."
Asked about the lack of interest in his latest royal memoirs, Burrell who was in contention to be crowned King of the Jungle when he appeared on the 2004 series of the ITV reality show I'm A Celebrity Get Me Out of Here! kept smiling, saying: "It has been slow but that is book signings."
"I'm sure they will sell for Christmas."
