She was recently lauded as one of the world's most powerful blondes.
Now, the 59-year-old Duchess of Cornwall has apparently turned to hormone replacement therapy (HRT) in an attempt to hold on to her new-found appeal, one which even saw her voted amongst the top ten most attractive post-menopausal women in Britain.
Camilla, who is set to celebrate her 60th birthday on July 17th next year, has reportedly been prescribed HRT patches after suffering episodes of fatigue and shortness of breath. It isn't known whether the latter may have been caused by a lifetime of smoking, the Duchess having battled an addiction to the dreaded weed for many decades.
The news that Camilla has been suffering from fatigue comes just weeks after the Duchess came under widespread fire for allegedly displaying a "workshy" attitude to her new life as wife of the Prince of Wales.
The criticism was compounded when official figures released by Clarence House revealed the Duchess had undertaken only around a third of the engagements carried out by the Queen who, at 80, is over twenty years older than her daughter-in-law.
A source close to the Duchess is quoted as saying of Camilla's use of HRT, the patches for which she's reportedly been wearing since July: "Camilla is very aware of her appearance, so it is entirely understandable that she should have sought advice to deal with things like red flushes and tiredness. What woman in the public eye doesn't want to look her best?"
Back in February this year, the Duchess who appears to have undergone a remarkable transformation since her marriage to Charles was no doubt delighted to discover she'd been voted amongst Britain's most attractive women of her age in a poll for a women's magazine, Health Plus, ranking ninth alongside such glamorous actresses as Felicity Kendal and Absolutely Fabulous star and royal friend Joanna Lumley.
