'Ello, 'Ello, 'Ello: Kate's New Brush With The Law PDF Print E-mail
Written by Joanne Leyland
Thursday, 04 January 2007

There was little danger of Prince William's girlfriend enduring another face-off with a traffic warden today.

Leaving her London home for work a few hours ago, photographers were faced with the slightly intriguing sight of Kate Middleton (who, of course, is not yet entitled to police protection due to her still being "a commoner" being accompanied by a uniformed policewoman.

As you can see, Kate braved the cold of a winter's day in the capital in a short skirt and rather snazzy tights, and looked happy and relaxed despite having found herself featured heavily in Thursday's newspapers due to her small conflict with a traffic warden twenty-four hours earlier.

This isn't the first time the royal girlfriend has enjoyed the company of the police as she departed home.

At the end of last year Kate — who'll celebrate her 25th birthday next week — and her mother, Carole, were pictured in similar circumstances as they emerged from the Chelsea home.

The reason for the police presence is likely precautionary and, in the dangerous days we live in today, fully understandable and sensible, the reality being that Prince William is a regular visitor to his girlfriend's flat.

However, such an image of Kate alone being accompanied by such a visible police presence is bound to stir yet more ongoing speculation about her future role in both William's life and, quite possibly, at the heart of the 21st Century monarchy.

Joanne, no need to explain your Kate or any other articles - you have a fabulous website which satisfies interests of a wide group of people - members and not included. Keep up the good work and looking forward to another great year!

As for Kate coverage, yet again she's getting pounded by some comments here, when she didn't ask to have anyone give press coverage to an innocent traffic violation. She seems perfectly normal, except for that 'dating a prince' thing. happy-smiley

Actually, I think Kate's getting exactly what she wants--non-stop, over-the-top attention.

Hahaha. More Kate, all the time. She WILL be the new Queen of England some day. There is no way William would DARE to back down now, short of her going whacko, or some huge secret in her past being revealed. They are stuck with each other. I myself think more coverage would be appropriate. More of William and Harry and his girl and less of the older stodgy and dodgy characters in the House of Windsor. We need some new fresh air blowing through the halls of Windsor and Sandringham, Clarence house.

When there is not much going on with the Royals , it's understandable that Joanne posts articles on
KM , and after all her behaviour has been drawing attention to herself . Also the Press have been very silly in their over-the-top praise of a girl who hasn't done anything yet - 'Peoples' Princess ' indeed ! laughing-smiley

The press are really gearing up to turn on Kate, aren't they? If they don't get their royal wedding, they'll use moral dismay as a thinly veiled excuse to use her as tabloid fodder. This despite the fact that she doesn't seem to be doing anything differently in the past few months to how she did it before that. thumbsdown

I think satisfied people don't complain, they read, they look, they log on again, quietly, possibly with their tea and crumpet or donut and coffee.

I personally think there is more to this story than we are being told.

Maybe something is going on, with all this extra security.

Hi everyone happy-smiley Can I just say, in my defence: the royals are very absent from public view right now so all I can do is report on stories which are in the public eye and work with what I have. The royal scene is always a little quiet at the start of the New Year but believe me, if there were new pictures of other royals available to us they'd be here.

Also, to be honest: I say this purely as fact - I can see from e-mail feedback and the statistics for the site that stories on William and Kate (and Harry and Chelsy....albeit they too are currently absent from the public eye) are incredibly popular, far more popular than the more serious features I try to incorporate (such as coverage of royal engagements by the Queen, Prince of Wales etc etc).

It's funny we're chatting about this now as I've recently received e-mails telling me there isn't enough new pictures or news about Kate Middleton on The Royalist. But....at the same time I receive e-mails saying: "There's not enough on Diana" or "There's too much on Diana", "There's not enough on Kate"/"There's too much on Kate"/"There's not enough on Camilla"/"There's too much on Camilla" etc etc etc.....

By the way, Karmen (and everyone else) please don't feel you need apologise for making any comments as I always appreciate your support, there's no need to feel bad about saying anything negative as it's a fact of life that not everything will please everyone but we all just have to accept that. Don't worry about it happy-smiley

Can someone ring up Buckingham Palace and Clarence House and ask the royals to get back to work, please? laughing-smiley

Joanne

No offense Joanne, but really enough of Kate Middleton PLEASE!!!
This is almost as bad as the tabs, again no offense meant, because there really is no reason why these small little "events" need to be reported on. Unless there is an engagement or breakup than I see no reason why we should be bambarded with images of this girl day in and day out.
Also what about Chelsy? I understand that she is not in britain but there are pictures of her out there and yet we have seen very little of her. Except when negative little snippets actually make it to the tab pages.
Again I really love your page and for the most part really enjoy the images you provide as well as video footage. But enough of Kate. PLEASE.

Could this be a sign, from our higher power, that the engagement is going to be announced soon.

I won't comment on whether I think the pleasant looking constable seen in the picture is adequate protection for Kate, against a terrorist attack, or just against the press?

Obviously, like William, Kate appears to be a head taller than average commoners in a crowd. It appears, when the members of the Royal family are under attack, by the press, the aim is usually below the belt whereas terrorists usually aim for higher up.

Please......enough of this young woman!

She may or may not be the future wife of William, but I am heartily sick of seeing her, for the most banal of reasons on this home page.

Thank You for your consideration.
