Sarah, Duchess of York has told of her delight at being named The American Cancer Society's Mother of The Year.
The 47-year-old Duchess will be awarded the title at a ceremony in New York on Tuesday.
Although not yet confirmed, it's expected Sarah may be accompanied to the event by her equally thrilled daughters, Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie.
The Duchess has been speaking about her influence on her children and others thanks to her new life of physical well-being.
Appearing on American television station ABC's This Week programme, the Duke of York's ex-wife told George Stephanopolous, a former adviser to President Bill Clinton: "They see that I go running, I get on my bicycle, I do yoga, Pilates, whatever else I do."
"Do you know what they do? Get up off the sofa, turn the television off, walk to work, walk around the block, more vegetables, more fruits at school, less soda pops, less fast food."
The Duchess, who has turned her life and public image around after being condemned in the early years of her marriage as a bad example of motherhood, was asked how she reacted on being told the American Cancer Society would like to honour her with the award.
Her first reaction was to speak to Beatrice and Eugenie, whose response was equivocal, the response of the Queen's granddaughters being: "Mum, of course".
She may have been stripped of her 'H.R.H' title following her 1996 divorce from Prince Andrew, but clearly this latest honour has brought huge joy to the revitalised Sarah, the Duchess declaring: "I can safely say one of the best things I've done is be a good mother."
