England Fan William Tackled By Angry Welsh Fans PDF Print E-mail

This isn't the first (or likely last) time Prince William and Prince Harry have dismayed fans with their support for their alleged lack of support for Wales.

Just hours after William made his first official appearance as Vice Royal Patron of the WRU for the match between Wales and Ireland in Cardiff at the start of February, it was claimed there was private dissatisfaction at the level of royal support shown for the Welsh side by the Prince of Wales' family.

Meanwhile, William is today facing yet more criticism over his allegiances, this time from the opposite side of the sporting spectrum.

A newspaper columnist has bemoaned William's duel visits to rugby matches, asking why the President of the Football Association didn't make an appearance at last week's England match which saw Steve McClaren's team lose to Spain at Manchester United's Old Trafford stadium.

Although he appeared at a training ground session with the England squad in June last year, followed up by a trip to the World Cup in Germany, William has been a notable absentee from recent soccer matches.

Asks Daily Express sports columnist Mick Dennis: "What is the point of royal figureheads who figure they prefer other sports?".

William needs careful guidance (if he will take it ) in trying to get the disaffected Welsh on side . They can see that they figure very little in the lives or affections of the three Wales Princes .

The Scots love Anne (as far as they CAN love an
English Royal ) but the Welsh used to love Diana , and no one has stepped into that gap blue-smiley
