A fun and wholly light-hearted story as we head towards the weekend.
While Prince William recently bought his girlfriend Kate
Middleton a love token costing almost £10,000, Prince Harry has been the recipient of
his own more practical gift from his partner, Chelsy Davy.
She may not be married to her Prince, but Chelsy Davy is already acting like many wives worldwide by picking out items for her man's wardrobe. In her instance, however, it's a piece of clothing which the wider world can't see (much to the disappointment of some, no doubt!).
The gift? A pair of blue Calvin Klein underpants.
And so delighted is the 22-year-old Prince by the unexpected gift that he's reputedly told Chelsy that he'll take them to Iraq as a reminder of the woman he loves.
A friend of the couple has spoken of how the Prince and Chelsy are continuing to enjoy a strong relationship, despite the fact theirs is a romance which is mainly played out across the oceans. This is due in no small part to Harry's military commitments and, of course, the fact Chelsy currently on a world tour with her brother Shaun and a group of friends formally resides in South Africa.
Speaking about the Prince's unique choice of reminder of his girlfriend as he prepares to ship out to Iraq with the Blues and Royals of The Household Cavalry, the unnamed friend reveals: "Harry can't take much, especially in the way of photographs, so he has told Chelsy he will take his favourite pants that she bought him last month."
"And he is even planning to write her a long love letter to keep hold of while he is away."
Like many partners of service personnel, 21-year-old Chelsy is understandably desperate for the day she'll be reunited with her boyfriend.
