Page 2 of 2 The Royal Family, who are surrounded on state occasions by staff dressed in colourful livery and wigs, regularly enjoy fancy dress parties, as can be seen with this remarkable picture of the Duchess of Gloucester wearing a silver and blue Cleopatra-style wig for a night of celebrations at Windsor Castle.Determined to enjoy some semblance of a private life, Harry's late mother, Diana, Princess of Wales used to try out a range of identities in front of her giggling sons. One of the world's most famous faces regularly savoured anonymity on social outings in and around London by donning one of her large collection of wigs and glasses. Such disguises helped hide her true identity as the estranged and latterly divorced wife of the heir to the throne tried to find genuine love and happiness far from the confined world of Palace life. Some of the Princess's happiest moments were said to be the long nights she enjoyed in Ronnie Scott's nightclub. Hidden beneath a favourite black wig, the young Princess was able to savour the atmosphere as she enjoyed a night on the town with her jazz loving boyfriend, Dr. Hasnat Khan. The present Queen's formidable grandmother, King George V's wife Queen Mary, is alleged to have had her wigs sewn into her hats. Whether or not his colleagues truly do go ahead with their ingenious plan, Prince Harry is assured that he's surrounded by people who will do everything in their power to bring him home safe following what is destined to be one of the most trying times of his life.
