The Heir Passenger Who Caused A Right Royal Shock PDF Print E-mail

If you thought your last journey was a traumatic experience, probably thanks to the usual delays we've come to expect on the roads or airlines, spare a thought for a lady who recently embarked on a trip to New Zealand, only to suffer heart problems and wake up to find herself sleeping next to Prince Andrew!

According to a story which came to light this week, the Queen's second son recently found himself sharing his First Class accomodation with an unexpected companion during an Emirates flight between Dubai and New Zealand.

The Prince has been on duty Down Under where he's been warmly welcomed during an extensive round of engagements which have seen him promoting British trade and industry and charitable organisations, as well as bestowing honours on behalf of the Queen.

Residing in first class as he made his way to the Commonwealth country of which his mother is Head of State, the Prince was unaware of the commotion ongoing in economy class where a female passenger was suffering from serious cardiac problems.

Thankfully, a fellow passenger was a fully qualified doctor who was able to help treat the lady. However, it was clear that she would need peace and quiet as she recovered from her trauma.

The decision was therefore made by airline staff to move the sick passenger from her Economy seat into the more spacious and comfortable First Class.

However, the compartment was being used by, amongst others, Prince Andrew.

Although he apparently doesn't like the seats either side of him being taken — he is said to be understandably wary of being sat alongside a stranger who may start to ask questions of their famous companion — the Duke appreciated that the patient had to be brought into the compartment to recover in peace.

However, it wasn't Andrew who was unnerved by the seat change.

According to a source: "The lady slept until they touched down in Auckland but when she woke up and saw the Prince, she looked so shocked that we were worried she might have another heart attack."

Is it any surprise?!

Yes, it was very big of him to share one of the THREE seats he was hogging because he didn't want to be bothered. How far do you think any of us would get if we tried to tell the airlines not to seat people on either side of us?

Andrew should be commended for being so compassionate to this woman. As for waking up next to Andrew I would have had the same reaction.
