Organisers Reveal Concert For Diana Line-Up PDF Print E-mail

The line-up has just been announced for the Concert For Diana.

In what reads like a partial who's who of the music scene in the 1980s, the Wembley gig will be headed by some of the Princess's favourite acts, including Sir Elton John, Bryan Ferry, Duran Duran, Status Quo and Rod Stewart.

As you can read here, Sir Elton John — who memorably performed at the Princess's funeral — enjoyed a long friendship with Diana and continues to be a favourite of many members of the Royal Family.

The Princess's love of the stage will be represented by performances from the English National Ballet and an appearance by Andrew Lloyd Webber.

He'll be involved in the staging of a medley of songs from some of his most famous West End shows. Diana regularly enjoyed nights at the theatre, in both a public and private capacity, to see some of her favourite shows.

Having officially attended the premiere in 1986, the Princess reputedly saw the award-winning Phantom of The Opera more than five times.
