Within just a few weeks, Tony Blair will say a formal farwell to the Queen at Buckingham Palace following his resignation from office.

But whilst he may feel a pang of regret following his last official visit to the Palace as Prime Minister, one of his most famous colleagues will likely feel no such emotion due to his own memories of the day the Queen "fooled" him before the eyes of the world.


While Tony Blair has rarely put a foot wrong in his relations with the Queen, Deputy Prime Minister John Prescott hasn't always been so happy to bow down to the monarch.

Although promoted to the highest echelons of Government, Prescott has suffered more than a few indignities during his decade-long role as Deputy Prime Minister of The United Kingdom.



Aside from numerous gaffes, in the past two years Prescott's star plummeted even further following sometimes sordid revelations of alleged extra-marital affairs.

One of these is said to have resulted in Mr Blair's deputy cavorting with his secretary in the very office in which he welcomes the world's great and good as a representative of his country and the Labour government.
