Page 3 of 3 But the Count was about to commit a serious faux pas, especially considering the times he lived in, as he told the dog and all those around him far more than he surely intended: "You're a very bad dog, and I'm not going to pet you. All night you kept jumping on the bed and I couldn’t sleep a wink”. Poor Mathilde. How she and her lover must have wished the world would swallow them up! We should be thankful, though: for many, many years our very own Prince Charles kept two small dogs by his side, one of which – nicknamed Pooh – became lost. The Jack Russell terrier was never found, despite the fact the Prince offered a cash reward and posters were spread all around Gloucestershire. The official story is that Pooh likely went scavenging for food and may have become trapped down a rabbit hole. Could it be that the poor pooch simply came across a sight he couldn’t stomach as let's be honest here, we all know what was really going on inside Highgrove House between Charles and Camilla throughout the 1980s and early 90s…don’t we?!
