More than 2,000 television viewers have complained following last nights
broadcast of the controversial Channel Four documentary, Diana: The Witnesses In
The Tunnel.
Bosses at the station went ahead with the the fifty-minute broadcast despite
last minute pleas from Prince William and Prince Harry not to include
photographs taken of the crash scene in the immediate aftermath of the tragedy
which befell their mother.
The channel has a long history of becoming embroiled in controversy.
Tens of thousands of viewers complained at the broadcaster's initial reluctance to act against reality TV star Jade Goody following her
racist comments to Indian film star Shilpa Shetty on this year's series of Celebrity Big Brother.
Afer examining the way in which the Channel's bosses handled January's race row, television watchdog Ofcom found Channel Four guilty of serious editorial midjudgment.
