Prince William will join up with one of his senior
relatives this week for a right royal jamboree.
But this isnt party time for
the future king, for the Prince will be embarking on
another step on his road to kingship as he joins the Duke of Kent on
an engagement the like of which is the standard fare of daily royal life.
Clarence House has confirmed that 25-year-old William will join the Duke for the opening of the 21st World
Scout Jamboree in Chelmsford in Essex next weekend.
Williams appearances have tended to be associated with charities
with which hes involved, such as the homeless organisation Centrepoint, or in
particular those which allow him to enjoy one of his greatest loves: sport.
His Presidency of the English Football Association has allowed
William an official outlet via which he can follow the England soccer squad, as well as
enjoy the best seat in the house for such events as the FA Cup Final
and even the World Cup. The Prince also holds an honorary role with the Welsh Rugby Football Union (RFU).
Now, the third-in-line to
the throne is to receive a lesson in royal life next Saturday from an
earlier generation of Prince Edward, one whose work today goes widely
unnoticed.
