Most young girls dream of having dinner with a prince.

But for one group of women, dinner was actually made by the future King....in a royal kitchen which was certainly not up to the standards befitting a royal heir to the throne or his famous guests.

Singer Mel C has been recalling the time she and her colleagues in the Spice Girls enjoyed high tea with the Prince of Wales’ family at Highgrove House in Gloucestershire.

Interviewed for this week’s Graham Norton Show on BBC2, 'Sporty Spice' recalls: "We were invited to Highgrove for high tea."

"Some of us didn't like cucumber sandwiches and we made this known to our hosts, and we were made peanut butter on toast by Prince William."

Despite this being the home of not one but two men who are almost certain to be King, the Highgrove amenities left a lot to be desired, Mel C revealing: "The kitchen was rubbish – like MFI!".
