Royal Targeted In "Sex & Drugs" Blackmail Plot PDF Print E-mail
Written by Joanne Leyland
Sunday, 28 October 2007

A member of the Royal Family has called in police after being targeted in a “sex and drugs” blackmail plot.

Buckingham Palace is refusing to comment on the story, which was broken in The Sunday Times, but police have confirmed the arrests of two men, a statement from Scotland Yard reading: “A 30-year-old man and 40-year-old man appeared at City of Westminster Magistrates' Court each charged with one count of blackmail."

"Both have been remanded in custody to reappear at the Old Bailey on 20th December."

According to the Sunday Times, the unnamed royal – whose identity is being protected due to to the implementation of strict legal procedures – contacted police after being threatened with exposure after the alleged blackmailers threatened to publicly release a video which it’s alleged shows the royal engaged in a sex act. The unnamed royal is also alleged to have passed an envelope containing cocaine to an aide.

A demand of £50,000 was allegedly made to stop the tape becoming public.

A police sting at the Hilton Hotel in London ensured that the video was seized and the two men arrested.

However, a lawyer acting for one of the two men arrested in the sting has told Sky News today that the sex act tape doesn't even exist and that his client will be found innocent of all charges.

Note: Please appreciate that this story incorporates serious legal implications and so no comments even hinting at the possible identity of the unnamed royal will be published.

M-M.. I would suspect that even the royal mentioned in this Email Mag, if true, The Queen will be very much hurt and upset...blue-smileysad-smiley

I still say whatever is on the tape is very little, for the little amount of money asked for!. I hope these two lose their jobs, are shunned by their peers and have the pants sued ( no pun here intended)off them by the royal!

The papers say that the blackmail money requested is £50,000, or approx 110,000 dollars.
That amount is not exactly huge for such a case with a member of the British Royal family involved! I think if the tape were really revealing and "hot", then these two persons would have been asking 2 or 3 times that..... Like that amount of money was not going to help anyone retire etc.. Does anyone else have views on this aspect of this bit of news?

An (American ?) publication called 'Radar' has confidently named the 'minor' Royal involved .
Whether we believe he was really the one or a convenient sacrifice however is another matter .

It could be any one of several male Windsors , and that is the awful thing . Very un-Royal behaviour indeed when it is open to blackmail .
Those Windsor closets hide a lot of secrets thumbsdown

I think the royal unknown, (aren't they all becoming minor), was a victim, in a way it is a form of sexual abuse doing that to someone. I think it was good the person went to the police, because what those men allegely did is blackmail and could do it to someone else.

If a person doesn't trust a person they can be described as a paranoid, and if a person trusts a person, and is burnt, then a person is said to have bad judgement.

I am reading 1984 again, imagine living in a world where noone can trust another when being intimate. How can it work if you can't trust. Being human is what makes life enjoyable.

If the Palace says it was a minor Royal , that could well mean that it was a senior Royal involved

The person on the tape however can rest assured that due to their position , it will all be covered up blue-smiley

Well the act is what is done in private, no one is expecting to have the act videoed or the act would not work reasonably possibly.

I feel sorry for the Royal, no matter if they are senior or not. And I feel sorry for several reasons. Obviously the royal whoever s/he may be was involved in a sexual act. They, we can only guess, were not counting on the act being videotaped, as they know the risks involved in doing this, so if there is a tape in existance then it's most likely been filmed without their knowledge or consent.

I do know that Royals should know better, however, they are allowed and are entitled to a private life. Therefore what they do behind closed doors is there own business, and they should be able to do those things in private without fear of it becoming public or being blackmailed. (This is the opposite though of William and Harry who go drinking in PUBLIC places such as bars and clubs, as they know full well, what with the advancement in mobile phone technologoy that the chances of being captured on film (or memory card!) is higher then the chances of them not being filmed).

I bet whoever it is on the tape must of felt devistated, mortified and embarassed.

There is a chance that the tape could be a fake. Remember in the 1990's there was a supposed tape of Diana riding around Highrove's reception room on James Hewitt's back, only for it to be proved fake and that lookalikes were used. So who knows?

does it really matter whether the royal in question is senior or junior or minor - whatever that means?the news on the royals unfortunately do not get better.up to now it is a mere suspicion, as i understand it!sometimes i wonder if there is a purpose behind it and someone wants to damage the rf severely.the source of the sex-drugs-and-video affair should be investigated very intensely to leave no doubt about the integrity of the person involved.it really gives me the creeps thinking about the fact that there might be even the slightest grain of truth in it.but,as everyone can see, the members of the rf must be aware of the fact that there is always someone out to harm them, whether they claim to be friends at a private party or so called loyal members of staff even at home.that needs a real character not to go mad.i do hope and wish that the suspicion in question will never ever be confirmed.
