We Brits may be obsessed with the weather ("it's raining again") and have a tendency to complain ("how can you say that?!")
but surely nobody could say we're boring.
After all, how many other
nations have their monarch dressing up to the nines at ten o'clock on a
Tuesday morning, following which she waits patiently as a man bearing
the title of 'Black Rod' has the door to the House of Commons rudely
slammed in his face?
Yes, it's that time of year again when the Queen journeys to the Palace
of Westminster for the State Opening of Parliament, the subject of The Royalist Quiz No. 83.
Comment: THis reminds me of my last trip to London when I took the tour of the Houses of Parliament. I highly recommend it to anyone lucky enough to do so. As the tour was about to start, the guide pointed out that we were standing on the spot where HM enters at the opening of Parliament. What an amazing feeling that was...
