While his brother Prince William prefers to keep his romance with Kate Middleton very much under wraps, Prince Harry is happy to be seen to be having fun with his girlfriend, South Africa-born Chelsy Davy. And so it was perhaps to be expected that the younger Prince chose to spend his New Year holiday with Chelsy, the two of them returning to a place where, exactly a year ago, they were photographed openly kissing on their hotel balcony. According to today's Sunday People, Harry and Chelsy, who at the age of 20 is a little younger than her royal boyfriend, are enjoying a private holiday with friends at a the resort of Bazaruto, off the coast of Mozambique. The paper makes much of the fact Chelsy who, if we're to believe reports, is far more exhuberant than William's girlfriend Kate Middleton "showed off her sexy figure in a bikini as she and Harry sunbathed". Have no doubt, the media will be desperate for Chelsy to become a Princess as, at the moment at least, the Royal Family is somewhat lacking the overt 'sex appeal' which the men of Fleet Street (and especially photographers) obviously feel is necessary in the world of royal reportage! A source is quoted as saying of the couple: "They are with a small group of people, but Harry and Chelsy have a beachside chalet where just the two of them are staying". It could be argued that we should feel a little sympathy for Harry and Chelsy as this romance has already come in for a great deal of criticism, not least because of the Davy family's links to the barbaric regime of the President of Zimbabwe, Robert Mugabe. The appearance and fashion style of Chelsy herself has also been remarked upon, with some newspapers claiming she is more "chav" (a derogative English term for someone with no dignity or class) than regal. Contrasts have been made between Chelsy and the always dignified and somewhat demure Kate Middleton. Sadly, Chelsy's recent appearance across the newspapers wearing low-slung jeans which unfortunately exposed part of her rear did little to help her cause. Although Chelsy Davy may not be the kind of girl many people foresee becoming a royal Princess (then again, most of us don't know Chelsy, except via the negative portrayal we see though the biased, often sensationalised view of the Press), anyone who genuinely cares about the happiness of Charles and Diana's youngest son should surely be pleased to see that Harry, who was in truth very much a 'mummy's boy' in that he was never happier than when he was at Diana's side, is at last happy and far more content with life than he was in previous times, especially in the dark days after the death of his mother. And who is anybody to deny Harry the happiness in the pursuit of which his own mother died so tragically young?
