In
what has to be one of the strangest (and some might say tasteless) polls ever undertaken, a UK company has
discovered that a majority of people would wish to bring back from the dead
Diana, Princess of Wales more than any other person, including Jesus Christ.
Asked who they wanted to come back to life for five minutes, the 36-year-old
princess who died from injuries sustained in a Paris car crash in 1997 was the
first choice of more than a third of those questioned by Richard Branson's phone company, Virgin Mobile.
Interestingly, those polled in Liverpool - the home of The Beatles chose Diana above the
abiding local hero John Lennon and his bandmate, George Harrison, both of whom
nevertheless rank in the top five.
The poll also discovered that no
fewer than 40% of Brits would choose to live the life of Queen Elizabeth II if
given the opportunity to swap lives for five minutes with a famous person.
Asked to choose an event which they would most wish to be able to reverse, a majority chose
the 9/11 attacks which resulted in the deaths of more than 3,000 people when
Al Qaeda terrorists hijacked five planes, two
of which crashed into the Twin Towers of the World Trade Centre in New York.
