Its
been announced that an aide of the Duke of Edinburgh, as well as Dianas former
stepmother Raine Spencer and her best friend Rosa Monckton, will give evidence
at the inquest into the deaths of the divorced Princess of Wales and Dodi Al
Fayed next week.
Prince Philips Private Secretary Brigadier Sir Miles Hunt-Davis will be the
most senior member of the royal establishment yet to give evidence at the
inquest.
Mohamed Al Fayed has repeatedly claimed that the Queens husband was involved
in a plot to "murder" Diana to stop her from marrying and/or bearing a child
with a Muslim man.
Referring to these letters, in which Philip is said to have admonished Diana
(albeit he denied ever calling his daughter-in-law a "harlot" and a "trollop"
in these communications) Lord Justice Scott Baker has already told the eleven
jurors hearing the exhaustive inquest: "Where they went and whether they
still exist remains a mystery."
