 The
Royal Palace in Bangkok has announced the death of King Bhumibol of Thailand's sister
following a long battle with abdominal cancer. Born in Edinburgh, Scotland, Princess Galyani Vadhana was the elder sister of the world’s longest reigning monarch. The Princess had been undergoing treatment in the Siriraj Hospital in Bangkok since last June. 
The princess died today (Wednesday) having suffered kidney failure and weakened breathing. She was 84 years old. Comment on this article
