While the
Queen spends the summer walking in the hills around Balmoral, it would appear
the winter nights may be about to be dominated at Sandringham House by the influence of Silicon
Valley.
It's been reported that the 81-year-old monarch has proved she truly is open to
new technology by becoming a ten-pin bowling fan on the Nintendo Wii games machine.
On this instance it was William receiving the Wii as a festive gift, this time from his girlfriend Kate Middleton.
Unfortunately for the prince, though, hes not the only one keen to get his hands on
the wireless controller, for granny too has taken a liking to the machine which
was yet again Britains most sought after Christmas gift.
According to a royal insider, the Queen is just the latest member of the older
generation to become somewhat addicted to the Nintendo Wii and, in particular, its in-package sports game.
Wii Sports involves the gamer standing before a TV screen and making
real-life actions, such as moving the arm back and making a bowling
motion with the wireless controller in the hope of scoring a strike in
the ten-pin bowling game.
Other games on Wii Sports include golf, baseball and especially handy if annoyed with any
stories involving ones family in the morning papers boxing!
