Palace says the Queen is "very saddened" by the death of Sir Edmund
Hillary, the New Zealand adventurer who conquered Mount Everest just days
before her Coronation. According to the royal household, the Queen is sending a personal message of condolence to the family of Sir Edmund following last night's news of his death. The New Zealand announced today that Sir Edmund Hillary will be accorded a full state funeral. Comment on this article
