In 1991, it was claimed Prince Charles had "banned" Diana from signing-up to Sky TV, primarily because he couldn't bear the idea of having a satellite dish protruding from the side of his home.

Following her separation, the independent princess was soon the proud owner of a satellite dish.

Diana also invested in a massive widescreen TV for herself and her sons, Princes William and Harry, via which they used to watch hours of entertainment, including soap operas, comedies and the latest Hollywood blockbusters.

With Sky TV leading the way when it comes to HD programming, Prince Philip also mightn't be too delighted at the idea of spending even more money on the monthly subscription to the global TV network which is owned by "bloody" Rupert Murdoch!
