In his final appearance at the inquest before he returns to his Florida home later today, Burrell reiterated that Diana was still very much in long with heart surgeon Dr. Hasnat Khan, saying of the princess's relationship with Dodi: "I knew that she would not get engaged".



Burrell has come under intense fire and received not a little mockery from the British press after failing to reveal any "secrets" during his long-awaited and much hyped appearance at the inquest into the deaths of Diana and Dodi.

The princess's former butler admitted to the High Court following an increasingly tense appearance on Tuesday: "I thought it would be easier than it is. Quite frankyly, it's been horrid. It's been disgraceful actually."



Referring in particular to the cross-examinsation of Mohamed Al Fayed's legal team, who repeatedly threw doubt on his testimony, Burrell continued: "I didn't expect it to be so ghastly, and quite upsetting."
