A member of the House of Windsor is about to debut on the High Street in nations as far afield as Russia and Hong Kong.
Shops bearing the David Linley name will be set-up in Moscow and Hong Kong
following the international expansion deal with Sergei Pugachev, a part-owner
of the Moscow-based United International Corporation (OPK).
Expanding far from its roots in Pimlico Road and Mayfair, London, a further store
will open in a third location which is yet to be decided.
Speaking about his upmarket companys link-up with a Russian billionaire who
enjoys close links to the Kremlin, the only son of the late Princess Margaret
said today: "I am thrilled that Senator Pugachev is joining us. As well as
being a friend, he is someone whom I admire greatly in all that he has achieved
professionally."
"His understanding and knowledge of the luxury goods business make him
the perfect partner for the international expansion strategy of Linley. We also
share an appreciation of fine craftsmanship and design."
Having studied his craft at John Makepeace's
Parnham school, Linley opened his first store in 1985.
