William & Kate's Cupid's Arrow Shot Down By The RAF

She may be dating the world’ most eligible bachelor and future king, but Kate Middleton’s plans to enjoy a romantic St. Valentine’s with Prince William apparently didn’t take into account a rather powerful opposition.

Just under a month into his training course with the Royal Air Force, it was solely William’s head rather than his heart which was in the clouds last Thursday after he was essentially banned from spending a romantic evening with Kate.

According to the Sunday People, the prince’s 25-year-old girlfriend had planned to go that extra mile – 250 miles, to be precise - to meet up with William, whom she hasn’t seen for several weeks now.

As to be expected following last year’s very public split, periodic speculation keeps erupting in the British press over the state of William and Kate's relationship. Reports appeared last weekend suggesting the couple were once again heading for the rocks.

Referring to William’s need to cancel his reunion with Kate due to the demands of his military bosses, an insider tells the paper: "He thought he could slip out for a meal but the RAF wanted everyone to stay on base."

"Kate was going to drive to meet him halfway in Lincolnshire. Instead they sent cards and will exchange gifts this weekend."

Better late than never, perhaps......
