Mohamed Al Fayed has made a typically robust appearance at the High Court
inquest into the deaths of Diana, Princess of Wales and his film producer son,
Dodi.
Giving evidence this morning, the Harrods boss immediately promised that he
would "make no allegations" about the events surrounding the Paris car crash of
August 31st 1997.
However, within moments Mr Fayed declared that Diana and his son were murdered
and slaughtered by members of the Royal Family whom he referred to as the Dracula
family.
Putting forth a string of views which have been aired by the Egyptian-born
businessman many times over the past decade, Mr Fayed told the inquest: Princess
Diana also told me personally before and during the holiday we shared in July
1997 of her fears.
She told me that she knew Prince Philip and Prince Charles were trying to get
rid of her."
Explaining why he believes MI6 executed an
assassination plot at the behest of the Duke of Edinburgh because the Royal
Family feared Diana was pregnant with Dodis baby and preparing to become
engaged to a Muslim man, Mr Fayed told the court: "The minute she can see
happiness and love in the end, in a family she respects, they dont let her do
that and they took my son with her."
