How the Queen fulfilled the dying wish of "Grandmama" PDF Print E-mail

With no fuss or public announcement, Elizabeth left her home to travel to Marlborough House for what was to be a uniquely private and emotional visit to her dying grandmother, a woman who had devoted her life to upholding the traditions of monarchy.

Within the old Queen's private rooms, and without the fanfare that would herald this very moment in the majestic surroundings of Westminster Abbey just weeks later, the future monarch reportedly held the St. Edward's Crown in her hands before placing it gently on her head.

And so it was that Queen Mary did indeed see her beloved Elizabeth crowned.

I always had the understanding that her death was hastened . That if she died naturally, it might put the cornation and funeral in the same time frame , so they helped her along abit!blue-smileythumbsupExcellant article as always!

It's nice to know the woman who became Queen crowned herself, the way it should be. How very Russian Empress of her.

Just as I always believed. Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II is a class act. No fuss, no publicity, just a quiet act of love to a beloved Grandmother. thumbsup
