Queen of Thailand Hospitalised PDF Print E-mail

The Royal Family of Thailand have been hit by further health woes after it was revealed that Queen Sirikit has been hospitalised after falling ill with bronchitis and a cold.


Details about the health of the 75-year-old wife of the world’s longest reigning monarch, King Bhumibol, were revealed in a statement which was broadcast on TV and radio stations across the nation.

Queen Sirikit’s illness comes just months after her husband was admitted to hospital and duly released over three weeks later prompting an outpouring of celebration from his subjects.


Meanwhile, it was announced in January that the King’s 84-year-old sister, Princess Galyani Vadhana, had died following a long battle with abdominal cancer.
