While his mind is currently
focused on Chelsy so much so hes reputedly delayed visiting Lesotho for his
latest charitable work Prince Harry is reported to be angry at the news that
the majority of moneys earned by his Sentebale charity has been eaten up by
costs.
According to journalist Tim Walker, writing in his Mandrake column in todays
Daily Telegraph, accounts filed with the Charity Commission reveal that
Sentebale has raised a total of £1.15m.
However, of this just £84,000 has gone to those for whom the charity was
founded by Prince Harry and Prince Seeiso of Lesotho: the young victims of Aids
in the tiny kingdom in southern Africa in which Harry has become a familiar and hugely welcome
face.
A 'senior courtier' is quoted as saying of the prince's reaction to the accounts: "Harry is bitterly
disappointed by the figures. He knows its the orphans who need the money and
quickly."
Nevertheless, such are the realities of fundraising in the modern world in
which technology plays such a major part that no less than £86,000 was spent on
the setting up of the official Sentebale website
and promotion - this is despite the fact that Prince Harry's name and
face helped make the charity one of the most famous in the world within
just hours of its April 2006 launch.
