EXCLUSIVE VIDEO: A Family Affair As Charles & Camilla Open The Highgrove Shop PDF Print E-mail
Written by Joanne Leyland
Monday, 17 March 2008

He’s already an award-winning artist, sportsman, businessman, sometime TV presenter and, of course, one of the world’s most famous men who is destined to sit on one of the world’s most celebrated (and richest) thrones.

Now, 'H.R.H The Prince of Wales' has turned not-so-humble shopkeeper.

As you can see
in this exclusive video from Calyx TV, Monday's opening of the Highgrove store in Gloucestershire was a real family affair as Prince Charles was joined by Camilla - who as you can see and hear chatted happily about her travels (and jet lag!) - as well as the Duchess's daughter, Laura Lopes, and granddaughter for a unique official engagement in Tetbury.

Let's take the bull by the horns and look at a known conspiracy, Enron.

At the time, there were people who were wondering things like "how did Enron make money", and why didn't Enron have a cash flow statement which was accessible like all the other financial institutions did. And why did it take so long to ask why? Possibly because anyone who asked was either locked out of the club or mocked. The driver of a conspiracy, of course.

Look what happened to California and the power black outs which as we know now induced the artificially induced price of electricity.

Take another example. Cost of oil. US dollar goes down and miraculously the price of oil goes up. And who asks why? In Canadian dollars, which have appreciated, the price of oil if it had been traded in Canadian Dollars may have resulted in the price of oil to remain below 2005 prices, and one of the causes of today's price of oil, is the currency translation of the currency, oil is currently traded in, since oil is traded in USD.

Is a person's first reaction to flog me for writing such a long sentence or is it to ask why don't we ask why?

Why was there so much morbid curiosity targeting Di, who was a private citizen in many ways peeked on one of the busiest weekends of the year for traffic?

Why? Di possibly felt her dignity was attacked by paps, and she may have felt the way reasonable people do when pushed out of the door naked so she ran away from the paps. Of course many analysts would have known that would have been her most probably reaction and Dodi's too. Put the two together, they might just run faster.

My point is, we grow to not question things which in many ways are incredibly absurd. Partly due to fear of being mocked, ridiculed and made fun of, the very driver which allows a conspiracy to grow, as shown in the Enron case.

The sad truth is once JFK was gone, no one was able to replace him, or came close. The same with Di. Which on its own merit, is a good motive to get rid of them. Not proof of course. But grounds for a motive.

Flog me. thumbsup

No Valmae I mean the charity navigator.

http://www.charitynavigator.org/

It is American, but it shows what a CEO makes, the structure of a 5 star charity compared to a 2 star charity for example, how much a charity gives in proportion to what it costs to operate the charity.

IMO, the following comment is hostile and disrespectful to visitors Joanne graciously welcomes to this site (subscribers or not):

"Some people do balanced commentaries and some people just comment with the first thing that comes into their heads! Some people comment on everything whether they have something to say or not. NOT is usually the case"

It speaks for itself. blue-smiley

In response to Valmae - Just have a look at the level of debate on other threads ! For instance Anyacat has used a 'humourous' dialogue between Buck House and the Ambulance medics in Paris to explain away the amazing delay in getting Diana to hospital .

That's OK with Valmae . Humour is apparently OK if you share the same opinions exactly ! Watch out if the posters here start to attack personally anyone with differing opinions - that has happened on other boards - and ruined them
blue-smiley
Not sure if Monika's well-meaning defense helps or not . All personal attacks should be banned

How is that NOT balanced? Do we seek "balance" or do we only accept like-minded comments?

The questions are rhetorical. laughing-smileylaughing-smiley

MARK II Exploora: You mean the Charity Commissioners. You have to register with them if you raise over 10,000 pds. stg.

By the way I was incorrect the POW raised a bit more last year - 119m pds. stg. You are correct that he doesn't need to do it, he could concentrate on cutting ribbons and get away with it. However, he runs The Prince's Charitable Trust, just one of things he is involved in. Yesterday he was out and about with Hilary Benn in the Lake District supporting sustainable farming. Unfortunately all this is a bit boring for the tabloids and they have to write about the trivia.

A loss of respect expressed via humor or frank commentary should not be classified as spite. There is a difference.

has anyone looked at the charity navigator lately to see what the criteria is for a 5 star charity, it is the ratio related to administration costs (payments) to actual charitable work done. The five stars is not earned because a famous person shows up for tea and crumpets.

M-M: some people are trapped in a spiteful warp.

The Prince doesn't have to raise 100 pds. stg. every year, his predecessors didn't. There is doubt about Robin Hood's achievements, there are no doubts about 100 pds. stg. every year. That's the difference.
