The First Editions: Royals Put Off The Ritz PDF Print E-mail
Written by Joanne Leyland
Friday, 28 March 2008

As any royal watcher knows, the News of The World is usually the paper to fear for the Windsors on a Sunday morning.

This week, it's a member of Her Majesty's Armed Forces rather than her family who takes centre stage on the front page.

However, the paper does incorporate a smaller headline which is eye-catching to those with an interest in the royals: 'Andy girl's secret baby'.

Alongside numerous images of the subject of the story in topless mode, the
paper reports that Prince Andrew enjoyed a three-hour dinner date with the mistress of a billionaire.

28-year-old Goga Ashkenaiz, who gave birth to Russian oil tycoon Timur Kulibayev's lovechild just 72 hours before her date with the Duke of York, is quoted as saying: "I have every girl's dream - a prince on one arm and a billionaire on the other".

The "Church" issue, the "Roman Church issue" "Islam" now this thing with Tibet, if there is a God, or good orderly direction force for life, would He or She or It want us to have a religious war. What would God really think if there was one. And natural law in some ways can't be ignored. Or laws of economics. I am not saying to spend money on frivolous things, but to hoard money due to a rumour of an economic crises or collapse even, often causes one.

Could supply and demand be balanced, if scarcity was not artificially induced by destroying so much during war?

What are we fighting for? Could someone in God's name tell me. Oh oh i hear thunder. blue-smiley

To add to Emily's question, I wonder how seriously Wills will take his mandate to the church? And I guess I should not forget the POW? Or should I?

I wasn't aware that the function of Royalty is service-to-self to quite that extent. As I recall, the mandate insofar as "Defending the Church" goes is : "to watch after widows and orphans in their tribulation and keep oneself without spot from the world."

How seriously does HRM Elizabeth2 take her mandate to lead or "defend" the church? I just wonder.

I wonder if the Queen's decision to cancel the party will inspire other members of the RF? If HM and Prince Philip are giving up a diamond wedding celebration, other members of the family could forego a few cruises and four-figure bar tabs. blue-smiley
