Philip Prepares For Third Night In Hospital PDF Print E-mail
Written by Joanne Leyland
Saturday, 05 April 2008
The Duke of Edinburgh now looks increasingly likely to spend a third successive night in the King Edward VII Hospital before being re-assessed by consultants on Sunday.

The Queen's 86-year-old husband was seen by medical staff earlier today.

This consultation came after a flurry of media speculation that Prince Philip was recovered enough from a serious chest infection to be discharged just two days after his arrival at the exclusive Central London hospital.

I agree with Monika, if the members of the RF had appeared one after the other, the paps would have been swarming the hospital, and could have disturbed the other patients.

Must be really hard for people in that family, then they get criticized for not visiting. At the same time Harry thinks nothing of going out anywhere he wants regardless of what people think. I remember one article he went to Macdonald's and sat out on the curb and ate his sandwich. I guess all that fuss would really disturb everyone in the hospital.

Exploora, I think the royals are pros at keeping matters like this private and not raising any unnecessary eyebrows. Can you imagine if he had visitors coming and going? There would be a frenzy of speculation about his health. I also believe that is why they made sure he was photographed walking out of the hospital without any assistance. Prince Philip wouldn't have it any other way! happy-smiley And good for him! thumbsup

It sounds to me it is worse than they are making it out to be. I really think Prince Philip shouldn't be worrying about his duties right now, he should do what ever the doctor tells him to do. I just read an article on another news website which made me wonder why he isn't getting family visitors and how sick he must really be? I guess it is not that simple for HM and her clan just to go out and visit him, and possibly have a snack in the cafeteria after. I guess they are treating it like a "private" matter. Three nights in the hospital sounds to me like it is very serious.
