The 'love match' angle long ago exhausted at the time of the couple's 2005 marriage, there’s fresh media speculation today
about the state of the marriage of the Prince of Wales and Duchess of Cornwall.
In a report which appears just three days before the couple spend their third
wedding anniversary on engagements in Scotland, the Mail on Sunday
claims that
friends and staff are increasingly concerned about the union which has witnessed and survived so many lows.
An unnamed ‘well-placed source’ tells the paper: "The rows have been escalating
over the past three months,’ one well-placed source said. ‘The staff are
getting tired of it because you can’t help but hear the shouting.”
"As you can imagine, it’s hugely embarrassing when that happens."Referring to the present state of the
relationship between the couple who’ve allegedly been nicknamed 'The Glums' by
royal aides, the source claims: "Charles is very dismissive of Camilla’s
views and lifestyle."
"He is ever more fussy, ratty and irascible. She is happy to spend time at Ray
Mill, her old family home at Lacock in Wiltshire, and he will never go down
there to comfort her. He just sits it out."
Today's report follows up on similar sentiments which appeared in diarist Adam Helliker's column in the Sunday Express last week.
This isn’t the first time that the media have suggested there is friction within Charles and Camilla's relationship but, in fairness, it's possible that this
is documenting little more than the standard rows
which are a natural feature of
any relationship.
