The Times also features the verdict, although in reality the front page is one
which could so easily have been produced long before Mondays verdict.
Above the group photo taken by police following the arrest of the paparazzi photographers in the immediate
aftermath of the Paris crash, the Times incorporates a slightly
cynical and weary tone to its commentary with the headline: Diana jury blames
the usual suspects.
The reality is that many people will agree with this tone following
what has undoubtedly been an endless wave of often sensationalised and
at times uncomfortable reporting of the most personal details about the
life and death of Diana amidst numerous claims and counter claims,
especially from the Al Fayed camp.
