Trevor Rees: 'I Agree With Diana & Dodi Inquest Verdict' PDF Print E-mail

The sole survivor of the Paris car crash which killed Diana, Princess of Wales, Dodi Fayed and Henri Paul has released a brief statement in which he says he "agrees with the verdict" of the inquest jury.

In a short statement released moments ago, Mr Rees said: "I agree with the jury’s verdict and welcome the end of the inquest into the deaths of Princess Diana and Dodi Fayed".

"I hope that this now represents a point from which everyone involved can move on".

His message concurs with the main sentiment expressed by princes William and Harry in
a statement released by Clarence House last night in which Trevor Rees was personally thanked by Diana's sons for having agreed to give evidence at the six-month inquest.

The response from Mr Rees comes on the morning Mohamed Al Fayed’s spokeswoman, Katharine Witty, reiterated to a TV interviewer that the Fayed camp believe Dodi's bodyguard "lied" about his limited recollection of the events of that fateful night of August 31st 1997.
