It's Game, Set & Match For Wii-lliam In Wales (Updated) PDF Print E-mail

Now we know what Prince William really gets up to inside Clarence House with Kate Middleton: he’s been honing his Wii tennis skills!

The future king proved he's a good sport today as he was challenged to a virtual game of tennis at a centre for youngsters in Wales.

The only rule of the game? HRH had to win!

The prince is no stranger to the Wii, having received the must-have games console as a Christmas 2007 gift from his girlfriend.

Twelve months earlier William had livened up Christmas at Sandringham by purchasing a Wii for younger brother Prince Harry.

In fact, so popular is the Wii with the Windsors that the Queen herself has apparently become a fan of the Wii Sports bowling game.

Unfortunately for fans of the 6ft tall prince, this game of tennis didn’t entail the second-in-line to the throne swapping his formal grey suit for t-shirt and shorts (it's a relief, actually, as I’m not sure my blood pressure could have coped right now).

The future Prince of Wales was at the Valleys Kids Project at the Pen Dinas Flats in Dinas in the Rhondda Valleys when he was challenged to (figuratively at least) roll up his sleeves and take to centre court.

William himself appeared surprised to find himself having so much fun during an official appearance, the prince quipping:
"I never thought I would be playing Wii on an official engagement."
