Page 2 of 2 Whilst its been some years since Prince William attended the Wimbledon tennis championship, sitting in the royal box with his mother Diana, the 25-year-old prince showed hes just as keen on the sport as he ever was....not that his opponent ever had much chance of attaining victory over the tennis fan who enjoyed lessons from none other than Steffi Graf. Having slumped to defeat to the sports mad prince, 18-year-old Martyn James told
onlookers: "I was stitched up".It was a successful day all around for William. The balding young royal who was long ago usurped in the pin-up stakes by younger brother Prince Harry was treated to a pop stars welcome as he arrived on his third official public engagement this week. Excited onlookers were heard shouting "hes coming" before shrieks of "William, William" penetrated the air. Meanwhile today, the prince broke his silence about his controversial use of army Chinook helicopters.Chatting with a pensioner during his visit to South Wales, William mentioned how he'd been "accused of wasting money" by what he referred to as "joyriding" in military aircraft. Responding publicly for the first time to the recent controversy, the newly graduated Flying Officer Wales explained how he needed to clock up the necessary air miles as part of his four-month attachment with the Royal Air Force.
