On Monday, the Queen paid a farewell visit to her ocean-going namesake in Southampton.

Today, it was the turn of Queen Elizabeth II to enjoy her own travels around the globe.

Thankfully for the octogenarian monarch, though, Her Majesty didn’t even need to leave the comforts of her London home for her latest lesson on the far-flung Commonwealth nations over which she’s a very active Head of State.

While the press were otherwise engaged watching her grandson Prince William embarking on the first stage of his 2-month attachment with the Royal Navy, the Queen was back on terra firma as she held audiences with visiting officials inside her private quarters at Buckingham Palace.

With a solitary pool photographer looking on, the most well-travelled 'British' monarch of all time appeared in cheerful spirits as she greeted the newly appointed Governor of St. Lucia in the Caribbean and the Canadian Governors of Newfoundland and British Columbia.

This isn't the first royal connection to Canada this week.
