Beatrice To Move From The Shopfloor To The Newsroom? PDF Print E-mail
Written by Joanne Leyland

Pelting peanuts towards members of the press gathered in the apes’ cage during a visit to Gibraltar, Prince Philip declared: "Which are the apes and which are the Press?"

Now it would appear it’s time for the Queen’s inimitable husband to look around his family and ask: "friend or foe?", for it’s reported that his own granddaughter is about to join sides with 'the enemy'.....

Just months after a similar (and wholly unlikely) spell of work experience appeared in the offing for Prince William, his cousin Princess Beatrice of York is reportedly set to make the transition from personal shopper at Selfridges to the newsroom floor at the Financial Times.

In a story which even she couldn’t make up, the 19-year-old princess who is fifth-in-line to the throne is apparently set to write for the FT’s quarterly magazine which is aptly titled 'How To Spend It'.

While Clarence House apparently decided it really wasn’t such a good idea for Prince William to figuratively get in bed with the enemy, this isn’t the first time a member of the Royal Family has turned journalist.
