She danced around her handbag with Elton John in
celebration of the July 1981 wedding of Charles and Diana. Now if the claim of a Radio 2 DJ is to be believed, the Queen has revealed a more colourful side to her character by admitting she likes to dance to a chart-topping song the title of which couldnt be more apt. Although now 82 years young, the often stern-faced monarch who tends to restrain her quick wit and light-hearted manner to private moments apparently revealed she still likes to take to the dance floor when she hears the Abba hit 'Dancing Queen'. Speaking on his Radio 2 show, the presenter who has a history of high jinks claims: "A friend of mine went to a dinner at Windsor Castle. It was a proper disco with proper disco music."There was, of course, recently a lively party - at Frogmore House rather than Windsor Castle - following the May wedding of Peter Phillips and Autumn Kelly. Continued Evans: "The Queen stuck around because apparently she loves to get down on the dance floor." "She said audibly to the guests around her, 'I always try to dance when this song comes on because I am the Queen and I like to dance". Comment on this article
