William Wants To Step Out With His Babykins PDF Print E-mail
Written by Joanne Leyland
Tuesday, 26 August 2008

He’s spent much of the summer asking Kate Middleton to 'come fly with me' as the two embarked on another sun-soaked holiday on the Caribbean island of Mustique.

Now Prince William is reported to have promised Kate that he’ll take dancing lessons to keep up with his twinkle-toed girlfriend.

Yes, we really are still in the silly season that is August!

Continuing a theme first started by the Daily Telegraph's Mandrake column, a source close to William tells today's Daily Star (hey, we’re desperate here!): "Wills has been given a complex about his dancing by his brother and his mates so he has just stopped doing it."

The insider continues: "Kate loves dancing on a night out and keeps trying to drag Will up, but he’s having none of it. He doesn’t mind a slow dance at the end of a night but he reckons Kate is too good for him."

While William’s clearly not inherited the dance skills of both of his parents – for let’s be fair, Prince Charles really isn’t too bad when it comes to stepping out – the unnamed source says of the 26-year-old prince: "He’s told Kate he will take lessons and he always keeps a promise."

Leaping ahead of themselves, the insider concludes of the prince and his alleged desire to trip the light fantastic: "The lessons are bound to help on his wedding day too."

Shall we start the clock counting now as to how long it will be before a story appears informing us that the future king has been invited to be a contestant on the next series of 'Strictly Come Dancing'?

I think Wills would get into the rhythm of the music if he didn't feel like he was being watched.

How can he let himself go and do anything without feeling he is being judged and scrutinized.

And look at Prince Harry. He looks like a prisoner of sorts. When other young people are out watching the olympics together, possibly having a drink, (and it doesn't have to be alcohol), Harry appears to be surrounded by body guards as he watches the big screen standing on his grandmother's roof.

And these are young people who like to have fun, and how can you have fun if you are always being watched.
