What A Performance! The Royals & The Movies PDF Print E-mail

Casino Royale isn't the first Bond movie to be premiered before the Queen, the 2002 hit Die Another Day resulting in a meeting between Her Majesty and the Queen of Pop, Madonna, who sang the hugely-maligned theme tune.

We can only hope Prince Philip, on meeting new leading man Daniel Craig and other cast members tonight, makes a better impression on the new Bond stars than he did at that last premiere.

Then, Bond girl Halle Berry was less than impressed by the way in which the Duke chatted throughout the movie, revealing: "I couldn't tell what he was saying but I thought it was rather odd."

Perhaps he was yet again complaining about the perennial problem of attending events such as this: as he says, every time he starts reading the official programme, the "bloody" lights go down!

However, according to the Oscar-winning actress, the Prince did finally go quiet midway through the film......surprise, surprise it was when Berry's screen character of Jinx emerged from the sea wearing a skimpy bikini.

The good news for Philip is that Casino Royale does include a similar scene.

The bad news for the Duke?

It's Daniel Craig, rather than his glamorous co-star Caterina Murino, who emerges from the sea wearing little more than a smile!!!

Quote "....not Prince Harry's latest visit to a gambling den!"

When did Harry last visit a gambling den ? He doesn't belong in this article . I realize it's meant to be a jokey reference , but it's so easy to heap blame on him and praise on William - neither position is the true state of affairs - both of them drink too much and visit the London clubs whenever they can
